Profile Konica-Minolta
Konica Minolta is an innovative developer, producer and supplier of solutions for document printing. It markets colour and black and white laser printers and related user products and accessories for electronic publishing, graphic design, advanced imaging, for use in general office environments and in the home office.
Challenge
For the management and processing of its price offers, employees used to have to repeatedly re-enter identical data, to get these to pass through the entire flow of offer follow-up. This consumed enormous amounts of time and generated several mistakes.
Solution
A system has been elaborated that allows sales persons to create price offers via their local application, which afterwards are transferred to a central computer via a system of automatic synchronisation. Evaluation and follow-up of the data can take place on this central computer.
Result
A client-server application has been developed that allows sales persons to create price offers on their laptops. The offers are synchronised to a centralised database system. Here they can be evaluated and, if necessary, modified, before they are automatically returned to the work environment of the sales person.
Advantages
- Integration of the various life cycle phases of a price offer
- Full automation of the transmission of data during the different phases
- Uniform inputs and representations of price offers
- Continuous follow-up of the evolution of price offers is now possible
